Repetitive Wild Queen

Hey, Readers.  How has the weather been treating you?  Seems like it doesn't know if it wants to be spring or winter.  Pick one.  Preferably spring.  Anyway, I'm back with a quickie music dump.

Let's start off with those gents from the UK, Peak Flow.  The duo have returned with a new single called "Repetition".  They described the song as capturing a relationship stuck in the same unresolved argument.  Circling, repeating, neither side prepared to give.  The tension doesn't explode; it lingers quietly unresolved, more out of exhaustion than understanding.  A music video for the single can also be found on YouTube.

From Chicago, Illinois, we have Panic Priest.  This is a project that showcases the songs of Jack Armondo.  The singer, songwriter multi instrumentalist describes his sound as having deep crooning vocals while weaving together dream-like guitars and synths.  Have I told you synth is my favorite word?  If you didn't know already, now you do.  Panic Priest's latest album, Once Wild, is out now.

Now we head to Las Vegas, Nevada.  A.K.A. Sin City.  Formed in 2020, Pitch After Dark is a band that has a passion for making dark music that you can dance to while living in darkness.  Their latest album, Dark Queen, gives haunted house vibes.  I have no complaints about that.

That was my quickie music dump.  Hope you give these artists a listen.  Before I go, I just wanted to plug my Ko-fi page.  If you want to leave me a tip, feel free to click the link in this post, in the blog's header or the support me button on the side.  Til next time.

New Single! New Single!

Hey, Readers.  Post-Punk/Goth duo, Peak Flow is back with a new single called "Don't Die in Your Sleep".  The song is about remembering the sudden passing of a close friend and the feeling of total loss.  It features synth driven hooks combined with echoes of contrasting guitar noise and dark vocals.  The single is out now on all streaming platforms.

You can also listen to it here.  Til next time.

Going with The Flow

Hey, Readers.  Hope Spooky Season has been treating you well.  Taking a small break from Simmerween posting to drop another music recommendation.

My latest music recommendation is the UK Post-Punk/Goth duo, Peak Flow.  The band's members, James and Jools, draw influence for their sound from 80s synth, Post-Punk and Goth.  Below is the video for their debut single, "Running to You".  The song is about a broken relationship.  One half recalling the good times and wanting to start anew with the other half realizing that there was no going back.

Peak Flow can be found on both YouTubeSoundCloud and these other music streaming platforms.
